Description

Bromilead Revisited, This stunning pink bromeliad has received a glamorous digital makeover which has incorporated fascinating textures and background colour combinations. My original photo was used to create this unique, contemporary image.
Bromeliads belong to the plant family of Bromeliaceae of which there are over 2700 species. The most well known bromeliad is the Pineapple. They grow very well and require very little care and their ornamental blooms are long lasting.

Bromeliads grow well indoors in cooler climates and thrive outdoors in temperate climates depending on the variety although many seem to do well in both hot or cold climates and in shade or full sun. They are characterized by the flower stalk which is produced from the centre of the rosette and most flower only once. When the leaf production cycle is complete and the flower appears, no more leaves will grow.

It is helpful to know that bromeliads will not live on air alone and require occasional fertilising and the best way to kill a bromeliad is to over water it. They are not thirsty plants as they sore moisture at the base of their leaves.
